OUR PROGRAM PILLARS
“I Have A Dream” Foundation — Los Angeles takes a comprehensive, holistic approach to support the success of each child in our program. We believe in a multi-faceted approach, including individualized academic support, robust and early mentoring networks, social and emotional life skills, health and wellness coaching, fostering civic engagement, ensuring career readiness, emphasizing financial literacy and resources, and exposure to culture and the arts. We offer this comprehensive, wrap-around program to Dreamer Scholars beginning in early elementary school and continuing "to and through" adulthood. Dreamer Scholars receive post-secondary scholarship to pursue the educational path of their dreams and the comfort of knowing IHADLA is on their team, from first grade to their first job!
Mentoring & Support Networks
Dreamer Scholars are matched with a consistent and trustworthy adult role model who fosters an enthusiastic attitude in the Dreamer Scholar towards education and expose them to a variety of positive, new experiences.
Family Partnership
& Engagement
Parents of our Dreamer Scholars partner with our organization to receive on-going resources, communication and education to equip them with the essential tools to support their child’s healthy development and post-secondary success.
Academic Enrichment
& Support
Dreamer Scholars receive in-school support, academic tutoring and core specific interventions essential to excel them from first grade and on through college, which includes a focus on STEAM education.
Social-Emotional Learning & Life Skills
Dreamer Scholars learn effective coping mechanisms, acquire interpersonal skills, and identify how to activate resilience through social emotional learning curriculum, mental health partnerships and gender specific programming.
Leadership, Civic Engagement & Service Learning
Dreamer Scholars engage in acts of community service to support their own under-resourced communities and beyond, and identify how systems impact society overall. Scholars are empowered to utilize their voices to influence systemic change
Post-Secondary Preparation & Support
SAT/ACT prep and career exploration field trips. Dream Speakers visit program sites to provide workforce education and networking opportunities. Upon high school graduation, Dreamer Scholars are eligible to receive up to $8,000 in scholarships towards post-secondary education.

We rely on partnerships with volunteers, educators, business leaders, and community-based organizations to deliver thoughtful, long-term support to our Dreamer Scholars and their families. The IHADLA community works to empower families and expose Dreamer Scholars to the ideas and experiences dreams are made of.
