Learning from Alumni!

We were honored to welcome Dreamer Scholar alumna Amari Smith back to our Inglewood program as a guest speaker, where she led an inspiring session with our students on her journey and the lasting impact IHADLA has had on her life.

Having been part of IHADLA since first grade, Amari shared her path from early participation in the program to where she is today, thriving in her professional career at Capital Group. She also walked students through her educational journey, including where she attended college and what she studied, offering real, relatable insight into the steps that shaped her success.

Throughout her session, Amari shared valuable “gems” on college readiness, career exploration, and staying focused on long-term goals. Her story served as a powerful reminder of what is possible with perseverance, opportunity, and a strong support system like IHADLA.

We are deeply grateful to Amari for returning to pour into our Dreamer Scholars and inspire the next generation of leaders.
